Embracing Metamorphosis is a figurative series of photographs that documents the physical transformation caused by breast cancer.
Brenda originally offered to be my model for a new figurative series of photographs. The day we met to discuss the work she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her diagnosis did not inhibit her openness with me or the camera. The work was created over a two year period, in Brenda's home and at doctor's appointments. The project won the PDN Photo Annual in 2001.
